Teams with the plant manager and is accountable for plant operations to achieve results identified by the Corporation’s Win Strategy. In conjunction with the plant manager, leads a team of empowered employees to continuously achieve and exceed customer expectations. As a member of the plant leadership team, provides management direction and support for plant operation employees. In coordination with the plant manager, manages all manufacturing functions within the plant environment. Plant may be a union or a non-bargaining unit/facility. This role is responsible for 4 Value Streams - 2 shift operation Primarily all assembly, test and planning functions at the site 7 direct reports (VSTL and planners) 73 indirect report (hourly team) Indirect employees (Material Handling, Maintenance, Small Parts) Machining, Manufacturing Engineers and EHS will report to other leaders. Profitably grow the business and achieve goals measured weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually. Work with internal and external customers to promote and leverage company technologies, systems, products, services and processes. Establish and maintain premier customer service at all times. Lead strategy deployment activities for the annual plant Win Scorecard initiatives and growth goals. Lead Manufacturing functions to ensure operational efficiency and economy. Drive Lean initiatives throughout the plant to ensure they are fully embraced and implemented. Ensure the plant has proper inventory, production control scheduling, shipping/receiving logistics and quality procedures in place. Develop a budget plan and manage plant within budget constraints. Maintain familiarity with competitive environment. Provide leadership by promoting team concepts, coaching, counseling, retaining, mentoring, training, talent management, and individual development. Drive a culture of accountability and results through strategy deployment and effective performance management. Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business discipline is required. Minimum of five years experience in a manufacturing environment with demonstrated skills and experience with lean methodology. Minimum of one year in a plant leadership / management role in a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple priorities using effective problem solving / resolution skills and a team focus. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to effectively and persuasively present information to management, customers, and employees. Experience in the administration of a collective bargaining agreement including grievance investigation, responses and participation in contract negotiations desirable.
