PPD, the clinical research business of Thermo Fisher Scientific, has a new opening for Associate Counsel Contracts on our corporate Legal Contracts Team to support several PPD departments.
The role can be held as a hybrid office position or remote role in North Carolina.
The Associate Counsel Contracts position provides legal advice and support in drafting, review and negotiation of business agreements and contracts for assigned departments within PPD. It serves as the primary contact to ensure PPD's best interests are protected and that senior management has the legal information necessary to make informed decisions and grant approvals for business risks.
With oversight, provides legal advice and represents the company in legal matters.Prepares, negotiates and finalizes Company Agreements such as contract amendments, enterprise service agreements, non-compete agreements, non-disclosure agreements, etc.Assesses legal risks and provides recommendations and alternative mitigating resolutions to senior management.Provides training to other departments on contract requirements and other legal matters.Understands and adheres to Standard Operating Procedures and other regulations for all aspects of project implementation, execution and closeout.Assists in other legal matters, as required.Assists with customer disputes as requested.
Education and Experience:

Capable of drafting and negotiating routine contract provisions autonomously and complex contract provisions, with oversightAbility to work independently and as a team playerMust be able to identify risk and evaluate fact patterns to advise on the application of the law (may require some oversight)Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsStrong organizational skills and attention to detail, with proven ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and effectivelyMust be flexible and able to reprioritize workload to meet changing project needsStrong Microsoft Office skillsExcellent English and grammar skills, written and oralExcellent analytical and decision based thinking

The salary range estimated for this position is $85,000-105,000 USD. This position will also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. Actual compensation will be confirmed in writing at the time of offer.
