Body Builder Support Engineer AssociateWe are looking for a Body Builder Support Engineer (Technical Writer) for Volvo Bus
The group mission within Body Builder Engineering Support Team is to work together with all Product Development areas and secure that volvo has the preferred chassis to build on based on good understanding of the needs from body builders and our internal complete buses.
To succeed in the role as body building support engineer and technical writer you shall have the interest on how Buses Body Builders works, interests in mechanical structures, welding, machine elements and be able to have a general interest on electrical engineering. Experience in the area is valuable, but interest and a front-leaning personality strikes high for this position.
Main area of responsibility
Working on the development and maintenance for the Body Builder Engineering Instruction for three languages (portuguese, english and spanish) Supporting all External Body Builders on their development for building their bodies on Volvo Chassis (BEV and Diesel). Supporting with Mechanical and Electrical interfaces. Development of 3D and 2D drawing using CATIA and secure the correct documentation into Volvo Systems (Kola) Work on Weight analisys to secure technical and legal weight distribution of the complete vehicles. Supporting after market with maintenance and quality topics conencted to External Body Builders. Follow Volvo Standards during the design process using mainly CATIA as the design tool. Secure the quality on the documentation of the developed parts. Working with maintenance, continuous improvement and quality items. RequirementsQualifications:
Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering degree. Sheet Metal and Mechanical Structures development, preferrable from automotive. Proficient in CATIA Hability to work with Electrical Engineering, mainly wiring harnesses and components positioning Strong communication and presentation skills in Portuguese and English, both spoken and written. Being able to bring improvement ideas to the area, both in process and deliveries Strong sense of responsability and team work A good complete product overview, connecting cross functional areas to the final product delivery Self-driven proactive engagement with learning opportunities and ongoing Experienced development. Good organizational and planning skills. Ability to work in a local and global cross-functional network. Fluent in English.
Nice to have
Spanish Communication. 2 to 5 years of experience with heavy duty vehicles. Experience from Volvo software documentation tools, such as Kola.
