We are now seeking a results driven talent with food ingredients experience to join our Japan team as Application Specialist.

Your Focus

As Application Specialist, you will conduct trials on various beverage and dairy applications, within all food ingredients product lines and provide technical services to customers to support the business.

How you will Contribute

Lead beverage and dairy projects independently to develop new solutions and applications, or to modify existing products, recipes and/or processes based on needs of our customers as well as to enlarge the solution/concept pool for future business opportunities.

Provide timely technical support and knowledge, using textural/stabilizing ingredients including hydrocolloids/emulsifiers, protein and other functional ingredients into applications, to internal and external customers, with prioritization based on customer status and business impact.

Specifically:

Professional and timely responses in line with agreed timeframes.

Accurate and detailed technical project work and associated reports.

Cost effective approaches and solutions to technical support projects.

Run laboratory trials on formulations of various beverage and dairy products, as required.

Ensure all activities are in line with company policies, business strategies and rules as well as safe, hygienic and efficient day-to-day operations in the laboratory and facilities.

Regularly update and maintain technical self-note into relevant databases that the company may develop and introduce from time to time.

Commitment to all company policies, rules, regulations and continuous improvement programs.

Attend and contribute to relevant knowledge meetings and various local and regional conferences, trade exhibitions and business meetings where required.

Assist and support line manager for projects, Technical Service Requests development, project and lab management.

Share and present IFF products’ knowledge and application technology to internal and external customers.

Help to troubleshoot in design formulation and processing related issue.

Conducting assigned technical related projects with minimal supervision and any other tasks or projects assigned by the Group Design Leader.

What you will need to be successful

Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or any other relevant discipline.  

At least 6 years of relevant experience in beverage, dairy industry or equivalent.

Good experience in formulation development of beverage or dairy industry products.

Good understanding of plant/dairy drink and fermented food, ready to drink beverage, dry blended beverage trends and industry. 

Good knowledge of food ingredients properties and interactions (e.g. Emulsifier, Hydrocolloids, Proteins), and ability to use apply in:

Product development (including Formulation) 

Beverage and dairy processing

Good verbal and written communication skill, preferably English and Japanese language.
