This role is responsible for delivery across WBD of all statutory, audit, outsourced accounting and compliance matters for Singapore, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia, India, China and Hong Kong. The role oversees a team of 2 as well as outsourced accounting providers across Asia.
This role will directly support Malaysia, Taiwan, India, Thailand, Singapore. One team member oversees Philippines and the other member is responsible for Singapore, Taiwan, China and Hong Kong.
YOUR NEW ROLE
General Accounting
Period Close Deliverables and Reporting
Close calendar / Monthly P&L review and analysis Review and provision of variance analysis for month end results
Timely completion of month end deliverables relating to divisional responsibilities
Coordination of all Singapore, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia, India, China and Hong Kong based treasury related functions
Liaise with US-based treasury team and provision of information in response to requests
Regular review and management of cash balances and accounts / facilities. This includes responsible for IC reconciliations and funds settlement
Maintain effective internal control environment ensuring controls are compliant with various territory requirements and WBD SOX policy
Responsible and oversee accuracy of balance sheet reporting activity including review of balance sheet reconciliations and quarterly balance sheet footnote disclosures; conduct periodic balance sheet review updates with Finance partners
Perform ad hoc analysis for APAC Studio leadership and APAC CFO/Finance teams as well as working with different departments and handle queries within the organization
Handling System report issues in co-ordination with technical team
Responsible in review and approve existing Internal controls and procedures to be in line with Corporate Accounting Policies
Accurately handling reporting requests/questions received from various stakeholders
Coordinate with other team members to reconcile identified variance, adjustments to be made
Lead/ Co-lead in various global/ department initiatives, such as system migration and Account Reconciliation Harmonization
Statutory Reporting
Lead Statutory reporting across Singapore, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia, India, China and Hong Kong
Supporting E&Y on preparation and drafting of statutory accounts for all local reporting entities
Coordinator and principal point of contact for external auditors
Develop and execute strategy on an annual basis to deliver all statutory requirements by various country timelines, utilizing a combination of internal and outsourced accounting resources.
Proactively manage internal audits and external filing process through on-going engagement and communication with multiple company officeholders, including the region CFO, heads of legal, general managers etc.
Manage the annual statutory Financial Statement audits with PwC for various WBD legal entities, ensuring compliance with local GAAP
Coordinate between auditors (PwC), Controllership and local outsourced accounting firms to maintain a calendar of deliverables and deadlines for WBD subsidiaries’ local statutory reporting requirements
Review local intercompany invoices and service fee allocations for Global teams
Ensure all reporting is accurate and timely, and in line with company policies, best practices, and US/local GAAP.

SME for Singapore, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia, India, China and Hong Kong statutory reporting and compliance
Regular interaction with offshore accounting groups in a matrixed organization
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Fully qualified Accountant – CPA/MBA
Strong technical experience including experience of month end management accounting for revenue and cost
US GAAP reporting and SOX experience
Experience of multi-site and multi-currency reporting
Minimum 5-7 years of experience in accounting
High level interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
Fluent in English and Mandarin
Experience of leading teams through significant periods of change as well as steady state
Experience in Integrated finance applications/information systems e.g. SAP, Peoplesoft, Oracle
Experience with direct and indirect tax compliance
Experience working with outsourced financial functions
Attention to detail, but also able to take a strategic view of data and highlight salient facts for discussion.
The ability to plan and prioritize workloads to meet deadlines as well as effective time management of workflow to meet accounting deadline.
Strong analytical, strategic thinking and technical accounting skills
Ability to handle multiple tasks with changing priorities, communicating changes in scope and schedule to all parties concerned.
Able to work under pressure / time constraints.
Proactivity – display strong initiative and ability to identify and rectify issues. Propose solution rather than come with problem.
Ability to build relationships at all levels of the business.
