Your mission, roles and responsibilitiesMain purpose of the role
As a member of the Program Core Team, the AFO Graduate/Engineering graduate will play a supportive role to the Engineering and Manufacturing Leads, contributing across all technical and production-related activities in new product development, industrialisation, and innovation projects This position provides exposure to both engineering and manufacturing disciplines and serves as a foundation for future technical leadership roles.
Essential responsibilities and duties
The main missions of the role are to:
Process Definition (in support to PML “Program Manufacturing Leader”)
• Responsible for Initial manufacturing Process Concept, updating Process Definition as the project evolves, and supporting the final process validation prior to launch.
• In Collaboration with Program Development Leader (PDL) and Program Quality Leader (PQL), contribute to concurrent engineering activities, ensuring that the product is designed with manufacturability in mind. This includes involvement and participation in defining Key product and control characteristics (KPC/KCC)
• Ensure manufacturing feasibility by managing Process FMEA and MVP (Manufacturing Validation Plan) definition and completion.
• Responsible for Preliminary Manufacturing Footprint Analysis, and input data for the definition of new or extension of facilities as well as CAR.
• Responsible for Initial Equipment Concept, long lead time and standard lead time Equipment, Tooling and Gages specifications.
• Validate design of Equipment, Tools and Gages at supplier together with IPL (Industrial Program Leader)
• Support plant production preparation and ramp-up activities, including assessments of launch readiness and support during pre-acceptance and commissioning of manufacturing assets.
• Support all Process FMEA defined actions.
• Support IPL (Industrial Program Leader) and production lines supervisors to define and optimize standardized work procedures and participate in resolution of process-related actions identified during validation.
Product Definition (in support to PDL “Program Development Leader”)
• Assist in the development and refinement of product design concepts, ensuring robustness and alignment with manufacturing capabilities.
• Support the development of designs that comply with internal standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to planning and execution of product validation activities, including testing timelines, documentation, and design reviews.
• Ensure product activities remain aligned with overall project schedules.
• Maintain attention to detail in CAD data integrity and manage customer-specific data protocols where applicable.
• Participate in the creation of development plans, including resource planning (man-hours, test scheduling) for the engineering phases.
• Assist in documenting and sharing lessons learned, ensuring knowledge transfer and continuous improvement.
Your profile and competencies to succeed
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivelent
• Team player with strong communication skills
• Ability to work in a matrix organisation
• Autonomy and drive for results
• International mind set
• Fluent English
• Proficiency in Excel, Power Point, MS Word,
• Academic record with results above 70% in final year whilst maintaining a 60% average over the duration of studies
